Degussa Establishes Partnership with Top Business School in China

CEIBS campus in Shanghai: On September 23, 2005, Dr. Alfred Oberholz, Member of the Board of Management of Degussa AG, signed an agreement with Professor Pedro Nueno, Executive President of the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) in Shanghai, for a cooperation in the area of talent cultivation. "Degussa values this great opportunity to cooperate with CEIBS, one of the best business schools in Asia. We value this symbiotic joint effort as we can learn a lot from CEIBS and obtain fresh ideas from the students", remarked Dr. Oberholz. "At the same time, we would be pleased to share Degussa's global operation experience with China's future senior executives and are confident that this knowledge will help them, to some extent, on their path to building a stronger China."

The signing of the agreement marks the practical start of Degussa's cooperation with CEIBS, a joint venture between the European Foundation for Management Development and Shanghai's Jiao Tong University. The initiative involves Degussa taking an active role in the school by supporting and sponsoring CEIBS' operational activities and development, particularly in terms of recruitment and executive education.

The cooperation gives Degussa priority access to CEIBS MBA students for Group Consulting Projects (GCPs) and for on-campus recruitment. The new partnership is effective immediately and will run for the next three years.
