Degussa Building Blocks focuses on high-quality synthetic building blocks and intermediates. The famous brands include IONOL Antioxidants, SiYPro Performance Additives, TAICROS Crosslinkers.

Building Blocks has outstanding position in markets including adhesives and sealants, coatings and paints, cosmetics, intermediates for the agricultural and pharmaceutical industry, textile specialties and additives for polymers, plastics, petrochemicals, fuels and lubricants.

With sales of about 714 million in 2005, Building Blocks has 2, 600 employees maintaining 14 production sites all over the world. Since January 1, 2006, Building Blocks absorbs Active Oxygen business line to produce and markets hydrogen peroxide to pulp, textile and chemical manufacturers.

In China, it owns two joint ventures as production sites, Degussa Sanzheng (Yingkou) to produce CYC (Cyanuric chloride) for agriculture industry and Degussa Tianda (Liaoyang) Chemicals Additives Co., LTD for HMBTAD, an intermediate used to produce UV stabilizers.
