Degussa Exclusive Synthesis & Catalysts develops tailor-made chemical processes and a broad range of catalysts. Collaborated with Degussa Homogeneous Catalysts, the Business Unit is the only provider of heterogeneous, homogeneous and biocatalysts from a single source.

The Exclusive Synthesis business line develops syntheses for active pharmaceutical ingredients and advanced intermediates. The Service Center Biocatalysis joins the business line in 2006. In China, it owns Degussa Rexim (Nanning) Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. to produce amino acids.

The Catalysts business line supplies highly specialized catalyst technologies for the life sciences, fine and industrial chemicals. The Initiators business line became part of the Business Unit since January 1, 2006. Degussa Initiators is a world’s leading producer of Organic Peroxides and No1 Persulphate manufacturer following the acquisition of Degussa-AJ (Shanghai) Initiators three years ago. Also, it has the first new production plant in Asia for Organic Peroxide in Shanghai.
