Degussa – Partner of the Plastics Industry

At Chinaplas 2007 in Guangzhou, Hall 2E, Booth 2E301, Degussa GmbH, Germany, a multinational corporation consistently aligned with top-tier segment of the specialty chemical industry, presented itself as a reliable and innovative partner offering service packages and solutions for the plastics industry. Degussa’s exhibit focused on the use of specialty polymers, carbon blacks and liquid colors.

Degussa’s presentation showed how the products are used in the automotive, medical technology, optics and optoelectronics, sports and leisure, household appliance, telecommunications and electronics, and construction and lighting industries. These main application fields of the four participating business units are marked with the four large pillars phrasing customers’ needs：

The two exhibiting business units Methacrylates and High Performance Polymers manufacture customized PMMA-based molding compounds (PLEXIGLAS®, PLEXALLOY® and CYROLITE®), polyamide 12, polyamide 612, and polyamide elastomers (VESTAMID®), transparent polyamides (TROGAMID®), polybutylene terephthalate (VESTODUR®), and polyether ether ketones (VESTAKEEP®). All compounds show precisely defined functionality that satisfy the high demands of designers as much as they satisfy technical requirements for economical processing.  

PRINTEX®, HIBLACK® pigment blacks of the Advanced Fillers & Pigments Business Unit are used to color polymers, stabilize them against UV radiation, and impart conductivity. CORAX® rubber blacks and ULTRASIL® rubber silicas are used in conjunction with silanes as reinforcing fillers for rubber.

Degussa’s POLYTREND®, liquid color systems enable highest color flexibility to the plastic industry. With dedicated hardware and a well defined selection of base colors in house color matching has become realistic and simple. Lots of visitors came to our booth and experienced a quick online color change with POLYTREND® liquid color systems.
